Collection Drives 2018

We held a Collection Drive on June 16, 2018, at the Kroger Store #310 located at 3410 North Park Drive @ W. Lake Houston Pkwy in Kingwood, Texas. Volunteer assistance was provided by 3 different chapters of the National Charity League: Kings Trail, Kingwood, and Livable Forest! Thanks, NCL, for making this drive such a success!

Thanks to a cheerful group of NCL (National Charity League) volunteers and some very generous Kroger customers, our May 26 Kroger drive was a success! We gathered grocery and personal hygiene items for care packages, as well as cash donations that will cover postage for 50 care packages! A special thanks to this Montgomery Monarchs group of NCL volunteers!! We especially appreciate the participation on this somber of weekends when we remember and honor those who have paid the ultimate price for the freedom that we enjoy!

This was an awesome day for OME! A great group of smiling faces from the Magnolias Chapter of NCL greeted Kroger customers on May 5, 2018, in support of OME and our joint objective to collect much-needed items for our deployed military family. Our devoted troops will truly be blessed by a taste of home contained in these care packages. Our sincere thanks goes out to all who participated and especially to Kroger for making this possible.

On April 22, 2018, we held another collection drive at Kroger Store #138 at Hwy 99 @ US 59. We had a very successful day at this Kroger store in New Caney thanks to the help of an awesome member of the Navy JROTC at Caney Creek High School and 3 wonderful mother/daughter teams from Kings Trails NCL! All of them worked very hard to make this drive such a success, and OME is extremely grateful to all of them for their hard work and support!

On March 17, 2018, Kroger Store #117 at 24350 Kuykendahl; Tomball, Texas, once again hosted a collection drive for us. We asked their customers to donate an item from our list, and those items were then shipped to troops deployed in harm's way.

On February 18, 2018, Kroger Store #359 at 25651 Hwy. 59 North in Kingwood, Texas, hosted a collection drive for us. During these drives we ask customers to donate an item from our condensed list of items requested by our troops deployed in harm's way.

The Student Council of Lakeshore Elementary in Houston sponsored a drive for OME than ran through Valentine's Day, so they called the drive "Heart for Troops"!! They collected items that will be sent in care packages for troops deployed in harm's way!!

We held our first Kroger Collection Drive for 2018 on January 13, 2018, and it was hosted by Kroger Store #732 in The Woodlands.  The Bluebonnets NCL group provided our awesome volunteer support!
